An ethical clothing store in the heart of county Galway
The story of Ohh! By Gum began in 2009 with a small shop in the beautiful town of Clifden, County Galway, on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
We wanted to create something a little different: a carefully curated clothing and lifestyle store bringing together products chosen for their design, quality and the information available to us about how and from what they are made.
The Irish Times soon named it Ireland’s best boutique.
How we choose what we sell
That same approach guides what we do today, both in our Clifden shop and online.
We carefully select clothing, accessories, skincare, homeware and gifts from a wide range of independent and established brands.
When choosing products and suppliers, we look at factors including materials, manufacturing information, certifications, quality and design. Where we communicate specific environmental or social claims about a product, we work with our suppliers to obtain information and supporting evidence for those claims.
We are a Certified B Corporation™
In May 2025, Ohh! By Gum became a Certified B Corporation™.
Certified B Corporations™, or B Corps™, are companies verified as meeting standards for social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
For a small independent retailer in the west of Ireland, becoming a B Corp was an important milestone and part of our ongoing commitment to continually reviewing and improving how we operate.

What We Offer
Materials
Across our collections you'll find products made from a wide variety of materials, including products containing organic and recycled materials where these are specified and supported by information from the relevant brand or certification.
You'll also find vegan options and products carrying recognised certifications and standards. Where relevant, we aim to provide this information at product level so you can understand what a particular claim relates to.
People & Production
The people behind the products matter to us.
We ask our suppliers and brands for information about their manufacturing practices, materials, certifications and relevant social and environmental claims.
We're continually reviewing the information behind the claims made about the products we sell so that the information we give our customers is clear, specific and supported by appropriate evidence.
Style & Quality
We don't think choosing carefully should mean compromising on style, colour or individuality.
We select products that combine good design, quality and everyday wearability — pieces we hope you'll enjoy owning and wearing well beyond a single trend or season.

We're a small independent business and we won't pretend that every product or every decision is perfect. Instead, our approach is to keep asking questions, improve where we can, and be transparent about the information available to us.
