The Scrubba Wash Bag Experiment: The Best Travel Laundry Hack

The Scrubba Wash Bag Experiment: The Best Travel Laundry Hack

/ Lauren Delappe

On a recent road trip (on the hunt for inspiration and new brands, of course), I decided to put the Scrubba Wash Bag to the test, using Sonett’s planet-friendly laundry products. The goal? To see if this little travel-friendly laundry system could handle life on the road and the inevitable stains that come with van life. The Process: Two Loads, 17 Litres of Water Total I washed two loads – one light, one dark – using just 17 litres of water per wash (including two rinses). Compare that to a typical front-loading washing machine, which guzzles around 80 litres per load, and that’s a serious water saving of 63 litres! A washing machine does fit more clothes, but still that's pretty impressive. Tackling Stubborn Stains - The Real Test Before washing, I gave Sonett’s stain removal spray a go on: My new white linen top from SKFK A White Stuff T-shirt Both had greasy van marks (classic), so I gave them a quick spray and a 30-second scrub before tossing them in. The result? Spotless. Genuinely impressed! Definitely pre-treat stubborn stains with stain spray – it works wonders! Why I Love the Scrubba Wash Bag Doubles as a handy laundry storage bag before washing Lightweight and compact – ideal for travel Simple to use – just fill, rub, rinse, dry Kind to your hands and your clothes Planet-friendly – cuts down on water usage and removes the need for large washing machines Actually works – even on those mystery stains that appear out of nowhere Saves money (because laundrettes on the road are not cheap!) The actual Scrubba! The built-in scrub board saves your knuckles – no more painful hand-washing sessions. Final Thoughts This little wash bag is a game-changer. It kept our laundry routine simple, saved a heap of water, and was surprisingly satisfying to use. There’s just something about seeing your fresh, clean clothes drying in the sunshine after an eco-friendly wash. Would I recommend it? 100%. Whether you’re into sustainable travel or just want to cut down on water use at home, the Scrubba + Sonett combo is an absolute win. Would you give it a go? Let us know!
