Ohh! By Gum is Officially a B Corp | What That Means (and Why We’re Delighted About It)

We have some seriously exciting news to share: we’re officially a Certified B Corporation! 

This is something we’ve been working toward quietly (and not-so-quietly) in the background for a while, so to finally be able to shout it from the rooftops feels really special.

So, What is a B Corp?

As a B Corp, we’re now part of a global network of businesses using our work as a force for good. The ‘B’ stands for Benefit as in, businesses that prioritise the wellbeing of people and the planet alongside profit. It shows that these things are not an afterthought in how we work. They’re at the heart of everything we do.

We’ve always believed that running a shop should be about more than selling lovely things. It should be about doing right by people, by our community, and by the planet. Becoming a B Corp puts that belief into action and holds us to it.

From Fast Fashion to Forever Fashion

We've always believed in the power of quality, which is why the pieces we stock are made from organic fabrics and ethically made. These materials don’t just feel better, they last so much longer than fast fashion. We hear from customers all the time who still love their Seasalt jumpsuit or White Stuff dress after 10, or even 15 years of wear. That’s the kind of durability and timelessness we want to celebrate, because choosing well-made, organic pieces means fewer clothes thrown away and a smaller footprint on our environment.

What’s next?

Becoming a B Corp has made us even more fired up to keep improving and to make better choices, stock better brands, and find new ways to do business that actually works for everyone.

It’s such a big moment for our little shop out here in the West of Ireland, and we couldn’t have done it without your support.
